DBT-1TM is a web-based transactional performance test. It simulates the activities of web users browsing and buying items from an on-line bookstore. DBT-1TM is a fair usage implementation of the Transaction Processing Performance Council's (TPC) TPC-WTM Benchmark" specification. The results of a test run include transactions per second, CPU utilization, I/O activity, and memory utilization.
DBT-2TM is an OLTP transactional performance test. It simulates a wholesale parts supplier where several workers access a database, update customer information and check on parts inventories. DBT-2TM is a fair usage implementation of the the TPC's TPC-CTM Benchmark" specification. The results of a test run include transactions per second, CPU utilization, I/O activity, and memory utilization.
DBT-3TM is decision support workload. It consists of a suite of business oriented ad-hoc queries and concurrent data modifications. DBT-3TM is a fair usage implementation of the the TPC's TPC-HTM Benchmark specification.
DBT-4TM is an application server and Web services workload. It consists of activities similar to a business-to-business transactional environment. DBT-4TM is a fair usage implementation of the the TPC's TPC-App (tm) Benchmark specification.
DBT-5TM is an OLTP workload simluating the activities of a brokerage firm. DBT-5TM is a fair usage implementation of the the TPC's TPC-E (tm) Benchmark specification.
While the inspiration for these workloads are the TPC-ETM, TPC-WTM, TPC-CTM, TPC-HTM, and TPC-AppTM, DBT-1TM, DBT-2TM, DBT-3TM, DBT-4TM, and DBT-5TM workloads are entirely different and results obtained from them should not and can not be compared to TPC results.
The use of any supplied results of these tests for commercial purposes is expressly prohibited.
